Building Pathways: “GOOD HEALTH”

March 25, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Building Pathways makes space for people from different communities to share and reflect on how they experience different issues and to unpack the beliefs and values that drive the way we build our communities. Everyone’s an expert in their own lives. The only requirement to participate is a commitment to listen. For the time being, the dialogues will be hosted virtually through Zoom.

Up to 10 people will be chosen to speak in the dialogue, though you can Zoom in just to listen. We aim to have a diverse group of participants so that each dialogue will include and reflect different perspectives and experiences.

This month, we’re focusing on HEALTH, and we’ll be discussing GOOD HEALTH. What do you need to achieve and maintain good health? What conditions expose you to health risks? Why are natural disasters, and the impacts they have on some communities, not “natural”? What are “frontline” communities?

The Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center (APADRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides mediation and conflict resolution services to the diverse communities in the Los Angeles area, with a focus on the Asian Pacific Islander Population. We strive to improve human relations and race relations by addressing complex, cross cultural community conflicts and their root causes with community partners through education, training, and development of new models and techniques. The APADRC looks toward the future by training youth in the techniques of mediation and conflict resolution. The APADRC is the only center in Southern California whose service population routinely includes the often excluded, monolingual Asian Pacific immigrant communities.
