Elections for Neighborhood Councils across the City are happening on a series of 12 regional dates from now through June 2021. Board members serve their terms in office as volunteers and are elected by the members of the communities they serve. \nAt our Neighborhood Council Candidate Info Session\, you’ll learn tips for: \n\n\nrunning a successful campaign \n\n\nconnecting with voters \n\n\nadvocating for issues you’re passionate about \n\n\nwriting your personal statements \n\n\nfilling out your candidate application with the City Clerk \n\n\nThis virtual session will take place on Zoom. DESCRIPTION:  \nA high number of local residents have expressed concern over a City initiative that will upgrade our City street furniture for transit shelters and sidewalk amenities. The primary concerns are related to digital video advertising that may be added to these improvements\, including bus shelters. \nThe Director of the City’s Bureau of Street Services\, Adel Hagekhalil\, will be joining the Brentwood Community Council for a public meeting to discuss theSidewalk and Transit Amenities Program (STAP) and answer your questions. On November 24\, 2020\, the Board of Public Works to release the STAP Request for Proposals (RFP). (At the link\, see these attachments: BSS1 is the Board Report; BSS 1 TR3 is the RFP.) SUMMARY:BYSTANDER INTERVENTION TRAINING – HOW TO SHOW UP FOR OTHERS
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, December 9nd from 6:30-8:00pm ET. hollaback!\, a nationally recognized non-profit working to end harassment will present a bystander training on how to actively provide care and support for those discriminated by gender\, sexual orientation\, sexual identity\, ethnicity\, and/or race \nThe COVID-19 pandemic has witnessed an increase in incidents of bias\, discrimination\, violence and hate directed against people due to their Gender\, Sexual Orientation\, Sexual Identity\, Ethnicity\, and/or Race. In this training our goal is to give participants the tools to intervene the next time they witness harassment. We will equip you with the right information on how to be an effective bystander in the midst of public space harassment using hollaback!’s proven 5D’s methodology\, our five strategies for intervention.
